Beaumont Port Arthur, TX, October 6, 2026 — A recent film review published in The Port Arthur News and The Orange Leader has offered a mixed assessment of the movie “Digger.” The review, penned by critic Movie Guy, highlights the film’s visual achievements and the central performance by its star, Tom Cruise. However, it also points to significant drawbacks in the movie’s narrative and thematic execution.

“Digger,” directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, is described as a polarizing work, suggesting it is likely to elicit strong but divided reactions from audiences. The review acknowledges the film’s capacity to captivate visually, noting its “stunning visuals” as a key strength. Furthermore, Tom Cruise’s performance was singled out for commendation, indicating a strong contribution from the lead actor.

Despite these positive elements, the review found that the film faltered in its storytelling and thematic coherence. Criticisms included “unfocused satire” and issues with the overall narrative, implying that the film struggled to effectively convey its intended message or maintain a consistent tone. These weaknesses appear to have detracted from the overall viewing experience.

Ultimately, Movie Guy awarded “Digger” a rating of 2.5 out of a possible 4 stars. This score reflects the film’s notable strengths in visual presentation and acting, while simultaneously underscoring its shortcomings in directorial focus and narrative clarity. The specific details regarding the plot or the nature of the unfocused satire were not provided in the summary. The contractor’s name, the release date of the film, or any specific details about the production beyond the director and lead actor were not stated in the provided summary.
